The indi Code Mat & Literacy Cards are on backorder and expected to ship in August 2025.

This full-classroom bundle supports early literacy, sequencing, and problem solving for up to 32 students. It includes the indi Class Pack (16 robots), two-sided Code Mats (2), and printed literacy card decks (4), offering hands-on ways to explore letter recognition, story structure, and logic through collaborative, screen-free learning.

One side of the Code Mat introduces indi Land, where each stop connects to an ELA concept like retelling, character analysis, or story sequencing. The reverse side features a blank coding grid, perfect for practicing spelling, sentence-building, and letter-sound skills with the included literacy cards.

Students can begin with unplugged challenges or expand their skills using simplified block coding in the Sphero Edu Jr™ app.

Why Educators Love This Bundle:

  • LITERACY, LOGIC & CODING: Reinforce letter-sound recognition, sequencing, and problem-solving with integrated activities that support ELA and early computational thinking.

  • BUILT FOR THE WHOLE CLASSROOM: Includes 8 robots, a charging case and a two-sided Code Mat plus literacy cards ideal for centers or rotating group work.

  • FLEXIBLE, CROSS-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Use the indi Land Guide and prompts to connect reading, writing, logic, SEL, and more.

  • SCREENLESS TO SCREEN-READY: Start with color tiles and literacy cards, then progress to block-based programming using the Sphero Edu Jr™ app.

Teacher Stories

We’re captivating classrooms around the world—just take it from the teachers themselves.

“Sphero indi has significantly improved my ability to teach computational thinking and programming to early learners. By combining physical play with hands-on coding and both on and off-screen learning, these robots make learning these concepts more engaging and effective. The tangible nature of Sphero robotics and the immediate visual feedback they provide help young students understand programming principles in a way that traditional methods often struggle to achieve.”
- Elizabeth R., Deer Valley Unified School District, Phoenix, AZ

“My 1st and 2nd grade students love coding the indi robot! The intuitive programming tiles helped them get started without much instruction. We have found lots of ways to connect the indi to our curriculum and use it as an engaging tool for the students to demonstrate their learning.”
– Jamie N., Soaring Heights PK-8, Erie, CO

“Sphero indi has proven to be a transformative tool in my Computer Science professional development sessions with classroom teachers. Witnessing the teachers' reactions as they engage with this robot underscores its significant impact on students' enthusiasm for learning computational thinking skills. The success is evident in the fact that several school districts have made the decision to invest in classroom sets of Sphero Indi robots, recognizing its value in enhancing STEM education and fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment.”
- Dr Charisse S., Alabama Technology in Motion, Troy, AL
